The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund granted $250,000 to the World We Want Foundation (3W) to support the Caribbean Harvest Foundation as it constructs and equips a fish processing plant in Croix-des-Bouquets. Caribbean Harvest will sell the fish to local hotels, restaurants, and shops while employing 60 Haitian workers and benefiting more than 350 fish farming families in rural Haiti.
Caribbean Harvest’s hatchery in Croix-des-Bouquets is capable of producing two million young fish (fisherlings) annually, via solar-powered tanks and with a network of 350 self-employed fish producers who benefit from the facility.
Swedish nonprofit 3W is managing the grant, having already helped Caribbean Harvest turn its business into a more sustainable one.
Why We Invested in the Caribbean Harvest Foundation
Clinton Bush Haiti Fund's grant in support of the Caribbean Harvest Foundation reflects our commitment to supporting small businesses and promoting jobs, in this case in areas outside Port-au-Prince.
