Kids Helping Kids: Odyssee en Haiti

Odyssée en Haïti

A group of two-week summer villagers at the French Concordia Language Village (Lac du Bois-Bemidji) in Bemidji, Minnesota created posters for the Celebrate Haiti Poster Project.

Over the course of a week, students at the French Concordia Language Village learned about the island of Haïti. In Odyssée (a class studying Francophone countries), counselors Pauline and Océane, used our new lesson plan and had students explore Haïti's energy needs. They spoke about how each student uses electricity in his or her daily life, and how students can minimize their electricity use. They explored what it would be like to live without electricity, and how they can help Haïti's population create and sustain their own energy.  They did it all in French!

The French Concordia Language Village (Lac du Bois-Bemidji) in Minnesota, is a French immersion camp.  They used both English and French on their posters in order to celebrate and remember Haiti.

Thank you to the French Concordia Language Village's Odyssée en Haïti au Lac du Bois Bemidji for learning all about Haiti and for creating bilingual posters that raise awareness for Haiti.
