The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund awarded a grant to INDEPCO to rebuild and restore its extensive network of garment micro-entrepreneurs in Haiti. INDEPCO was hard hit by the earthquake, including the destruction of its headquarters building and 10% of its network of ateliers (workshops). INDEPCO is the largest network of micro-entrepreneurs in Haiti's garment sector, with 600 workshops and nearly 7,000 workers in 32 cities throughout Haiti.

Transforming Lives and Livelihoods
With support from the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, INDEPCO will:

  • Rebuild INDEPCO's headquarters building, expanding production and training capacity.
  • Enable small-scale garment workshops that were damaged in the earthquake to resume production.
  • Provide an injection of working capital to the INDEPCO network of 600 ateliers to enable it to complete an order for 40,000 school uniforms, thereby providing two months of employment for nearly 1,000 workers.
  • Provide funding for a marketing campaign to secure new orders.
