About the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund
In the immediate aftermath of Haiti's January 12, 2010 earthquake, President Barack Obama asked former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush to join forces and lead a major fundraising effort to assist the Haitian people. Together they established the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, a non-profit organization designed to help Haiti "build back better."
While the initial work of the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund was focused on delivering emergency assistance, our efforts have now shifted towards promoting jobs and creating economic opportunities that will lead to long-term growth and prosperity for Haiti.
By supporting and partnering with existing non-profit and for-profit entities, we seek to foster a diversified and competitive Haitian economy, leveraging the nation’s entrepreneurial spirit in inclusive and environmentally conscious ways, enabling people, communities and businesses to thrive and prosper. In all that we do, we work with the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission to ensure consistency with the Haitian Development Plan.
